That song Asahina is listening to as he runs

Unidentified to date. After much ~painstaking research~ I have concluded that it is just a generic parody of a johnny’s-style song (lots of random english, kirakira energetic nonsense).

If you know what song this is based on, please tell me!

Week Up

Asahina’s decided to read this magazine in this chapter (guess he finished Myodo?) This is based on the magazine Wink Up. It’s basically like Myojo, only physically smaller.

On the cover:
FiveTools = SixTONES (except it’s pronounced “stones” because, Johnny’s gotta Johnny.)
CLAP = SMAP

Again this does not seem to match a real cover, since SixTONES would not appear on the front cover until March 2018.

Concert odds

Getting a ticket for a Johnny’s concert isn’t just a matter of rolling up to a site…or even waiting for a ticket drop. All Johnny’s concert tickets are released only to fanclub members through a balloting system, where you can indicate which upcoming concerts you’d be interested in attending. The actual recipients of the tickets are chosen by lottery. The most popular group in Johnny’s, Arashi, has 2.94 million fanclub members, so even if they do a national dome tour and an overseas tour, you can imagine how difficult it is to get a ticket. (The least popular fanclubs have tens of thousands of members, so it’s not like it’s that much easier to see them either.)

Since Nishiki is based on Arashi, Asahina really did beat the odds to get this ticket… and given the number of shows he’s discussed attending, he must be paying a fortune in fanclub dues!

Tour merchandise is sold at Johnny’s concerts for several days (or hours) around when the concert actually takes place, typically outside of the venue. It’s not uncommon for fans who didn’t get tickets to also purchase merchandise, so lines are very long at all times. (The best time to go is usually during a concert itself!)

Typical merchandise available for sale includes uchiwa, penlights, clearfile folders, towels and tote bags. There may be special merchandise specific to the tour available as well, such as KAT-TUN’s USB charger (symbolizing their “recharging period”).

Top right: The concert opening movie was basically a Harry Potter rip off (commplete with wands, the font, etc.)

Top middle-left: These are the outfits from the beginning of the concert (immediately after the movie) – worn during Fantasist, Weekender, Come On A My House and Ride with Me. (They took the jackets off before JUMPing Car.)

If you preorder a Johnny’s single, album or DVD, you may get a bonus gift! This gift may be specific to the vendor your purchased through or a general gift. For example, for the SixTONES/Snow Man double debut, preordering the single would give you one of five different clearfiles. Of course this encourages more purchasing to “catch ’em all…”
